Licensing Trusts
Licensing Trusts
As you will be aware a number of Licensing Trust boundaries do not follow meshblock boundaries.
Statistics NZ and the Local Government Commission have recently supplied to EEC a listing for each Licensing Trust where meshblocks are split across Licensing Trust boundaries.
Electoral Officers will need to manually allocate Licensing Trust voting rights to electors residing at addresses within the meshblocks shown in the listing.
Where “include” a particular meshblock is shown, only the electors addresses mentioned in the listing should be allocated the Licensing Trust voting rights. Other addresses within that meshblock should be ignored.
Likewise where “exclude” is shown, all electors addresses within that meshblock should be allocated the Licensing Trust voting rights except for the electors addresses shown on the listing.
Survey Plans, old LINZ maps and maps supplied by Electoral Officers have been referred to in determining each Licensing Trusts boundaries, however if you have cause to question any of the meshblocks please do so by emailing gareth.dodds@elections.org.nz who will forward onto the Local Government Commission or Statistics NZ for further investigation.
There are two listings. The first listing is sorted by Licensing Trusts within Territorial Authorities with the second listing sorted by Licensing Trust areas (same meshblock information is shown on each listing).
