There were a number of defined steps that needed to take place for the 2013/14 electorate boundary review.

7 October 2013 Government Statistician released electoral population figures

16 October 2013

Representation Commission met to set proposed electorate boundaries

21 November 2013

Proposed boundaries were released

21 November - 23 December 2013 Public could make objections on the proposed boundaries

14 January 2014

Representation Commission published a summary of objections

14 January - 29 January 2014

Public could make counter objections on any objection received

10 February - 19 February 2014

Public hearings of objections and counter objections

17 April 2014

Final electorate boundaries were published

2014 General Election

New electorate boundaries were used in the 2014 general election
