Decision of the Electoral Commission - Te Kaitiaki Take Kowhiri, on allocation of time and money to political parties for broadcasting of election programmes - 2005 General Election.
Final allocation - 24 August 2005
A number of parties that were given an allocation of money in the original decision did not submit a party list and therefore will not receive any broadcast allocation. The Electoral Commission has reallocated this money as follows:

Explanation
In making this re-allocation decision, the reasoning of the commissioners was that:
- In the original allocation the decision was that $2 million be allocated to the two largest parties. As this decision would have been the same regardless of the number of other parties, there was not an argument to re-allocate money to Labour or National
- The remainder of the money had then been distributed between the other parties and thus all were affected by the number of parties receiving allocation. Therefore the money was to be distributed to all of these parties, pro-rata from the original decision.
