General Description
The Hamilton West electorate comprises the Hamilton City suburbs west of the Waikato River, including Frankton, Te Rapa and Melville, together with an area to the west and southwest including Temple View, Te Kowhai and Whatawhata.
Summary of Reasons
The existing Hamilton West electorate is slightly over quota (3%) and has a slowly decreasing population relative to quota. It has been affected by adjustments resulting from the changes to Taranaki – King Country. The Commission has made a compensatory adjustment to the northern boundary to bring it up to, but not including Ngaruawahia.
