General Description
The Hutt South electorate comprises much of the lower Hutt Valley, Petone, Wainuiomata and Eastbourne, including Boulcott and the southern portion of Naenae. It excludes the Western Hills and extends as far south as Turakirae Head.
Summary of Reasons
The existing Hutt South electorate is under quota tolerance (-7%) and declining relative to quota. It requires adjustment. There are strong geographic boundaries to the east and west. Therefore the boundary has been moved north into Rimutaka by incorporating the portion of Naenae that was split in 2002.
