General Description
The Maungakiekie electorate lies in the southeastern part of the Auckland isthmus, on the northern and eastern shores of the Mangere Inlet. This electorate includes the communities of Otahuhu, Mt Wellington, Onehunga and Greenlane.
Summary of Reasons
The current Maungakiekie electorate is 2% below quota and increasing slowly relative to the quota. It gains that portion of Epsom South (between Mt Eden Road and Pah Road), Royal Oak, Onehunga and Te Papapa from Mt Roskill. A compensating adjustment is made by transferring Ellerslie to Tamaki and the area around Sylvia Park to Pakuranga.
