General Description
The Nelson electorate includes Nelson City, Richmond, Hope and Brightwater. It extends as far north as Cape Soucis at the entrance to Croisilles Harbour.
Summary of Reasons
Nelson is an electorate with a population that is projected to exceed the quota range. This combined with the required change to West Coast–Tasman necessitates a change. The Commission proposes that the change occur by shifting the boundary northwards to mostly follow the 2004 ward boundary, except for the township of Brightwater.
