General Description
The Tamaki electorate lies to the east of the Auckland City Centre. It extends from Bastion Point in the north to Ellerslie in the south, and from Orakei in the west to Glendowie in the east. It also includes the communities of St Heliers, Mission Bay, Meadowbank and St Johns.
Summary of Reasons
Tamaki is 4% above quota and increasing relative to quota. It has gained portions of Ellerslie from Maungakiekie and Epsom. To compensate it has lost the suburbs of Glen Innes, Pt England and Panmure to Pakuranga. This is part of the general shift of Auckland boundaries to make way for an additional electorate in south east Auckland.
