General Description
The Wairarapa electorate comprises the Wairarapa and the southern portion of Hawke’s Bay, including Waipukurau, Dannevirke, Woodville and Pahiatua.
Summary of Reasons
The existing Wairarapa electorate is significantly under quota (-10%). With the electorate constrained by the Tararua and Ruahine ranges to the west and the coast to the east and south, the electorate has to expand into Tukituki. Sufficient population to reach quota came by absorbing the Waipukurau and Takapau area up to but not including Waipawa.
