The Whanganui electorate comprises the communities of Wanganui, Patea, Hawera, Eltham, Manaia and Opunake.
Summary of Reasons
The existing Whanganui electorate is under tolerance at -6% and declining relative to quota thus requiring change. This requirement is met by changing the western boundary. The electorate now comprises the whole of the South Taranaki District and the Whanganui District.
