Twenty-one parties registered to contest party vote
The Electoral Commission has made final party and logo registration decisions today (Fri, 3 Oct '08) ahead of the general election, with 21 parties now registered and so eligible to contest the party vote:
- Workers Party of New Zealand (Workers Party) was registered as a party, along with its abbreviated name
- A new logo was registered for the Aotearoa Legalise Cannabis Party.
Registration applications cannot be processed from Writ Day (8 Oct '08) until after the return of the Writ (28 Nov '08).
