Vacancy - Kids Voting co-ordinator
- Five month fixed contract
- Central Wellington
Do you have excellent project management and communication skills?
Are you interested in working on an exciting project to encourage youth participation?
Kids Voting is a nationwide programme that will give year nine high school students the opportunity to participate in an authentic voting experience coinciding with the 2008 general election.
We are looking for a national co-ordinator for Kids Voting to fulfil the following responsibilities:
- Close liaison with schools and participants
- Management of information and data
- Collation, analysis and reporting on results
- Management of communications and press
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Computer/web literacy and the ability to analyse election data and produce evaluation reports
- Plenty of enthusiasm, initiative, and flexibility
- A working knowledge of elections or the social studies curriculum will be an advantage.
This is a full time position from August to December 2008 with some opportunity for flexible hours. The position will be based at the Electoral Commission although the employer of record will be Local Government New Zealand, another lead agency in the Kids Voting project.
