Christian Heritage Party registration cancelled
The registration of the Christian Heritage Party was cancelled today (19 October 2006) by the Electoral Commission at the party's request, leaving 18 parties on the register which allows parties to contest the party vote at general elections. Read more »
Three fewer parties to contest party vote
99MP Party, One New Zealand Party, and WIN Party have all been removed by the Electoral Commission from the Register of Political Parties which allows parties to contest the party vote in general elections. Read more »

Results of 2006 Māori Electoral Option
The 2006 Māori Electoral Option is over, with 21,588 Māori changing the type of electoral roll they are on and another 10,280 Māori enrolling for the first time. The 2006 Māori Electoral Option ran from 3 April until 2 August giving every eligible Māori the opportunity to choose to enrol on the General Electoral Roll or the Māori Electoral Roll. Read more »
2006 Māori Electoral Option - Media Advisory
The 2006 Māori Electoral Option ends on Wednesday 2 August 2006. On Monday 7 August the Electoral Enrolment Centre will release the number of Māori who have chosen to enrol on the General Roll or the Māori Roll during the Option period. Read more »
